A Nye Family Reunion
That's my dad smiling so proudly!
He's right center - middle row looking so handsome. I'm on his right with lime green blouse.
It was at Grange Hall that he presented his cattle brand.
His brand is displayed in the Homestead.
The Nye Family Museum and Homestead is open to the public. It filled with amazing history!

This is a collage of my precious daddy, mother and my siblings.
I've a lump in my throat, tears in my eyes, yet my heart is full of the best memories ever.
My daddy passed away six years ago today.
He was one amazing and loving father to all of us.
Yes, I was Daddy's girl.
Three brothers made me tough though.
No worries, not spoiled one bit.
Have a blessed day~

Run Around Ranch Report
My dad loved being at the ranch, so it's fitting today to join in.
He loved riding around and checking fences!

"If Roses grow in Heaven"
If Roses grow in Heaven
Lord, please pick a bunch for me.
Place them in my Father's arms
and tell him they're from me.
Tell him that I love him and miss him
and when he turns to smile,
place a kiss upon his cheek
and hold him for awhile.
Because remembering him is easy,
I do it every day,
but there's an ache within my heart
that will never go away.
Have a blessed day~

ReplyDeleteNancy, ok now I have a tear in MY eye, as I was a daddy's girl too and I also had three brother to toughen me up, and not spoiled one bit. We have much in common, my friend. What a wonderful history your family shares, and it was interesting reading about the Nye family homestead. That is a great picture of all of you at the family reunion, and I absolutely loved the Roses poem. Thank you for sharing a bit of your history with us.
ReplyDeleteThinking of you today, as it's been six years since your father's passing.

ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing and may your beautiful memories always bring you great joy!!
Hugs and Blessings, CM
I'm sending you a hug, too. That is a sweet poem and this post a sweet tribute to your dad. I had 2 brothers and they are gone now, along with my parents. I miss them all so much. It's hard to be spoiled with brothers around, isn't it? :) I enjoyed your photos. Take care!
ReplyDeleteHugs dear!
ReplyDeleteIt's so amazing that you have that much history though - your family goes back centuries not just years and you know who they were! I don't know past my great grandparents because of WWII and that always makes me sad. Hope your day will cheer you up more
Happy Medley
Such a beautiful post. Time feels so unbelievable when it comes to things like this. Your home place is precious, and I do understand how we miss our dads. Time makes it bearable but never all right.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful family history and sweet pictures of your dad and family. You were lucky to have your dad live to see you have a family. I lost my dad at 21 and not a day goes by that I don't think of him...and wish he could have seen these kids of mine. He would have been so proud----just like I know your dad was proud of you. Lump in my throat now, too- xo Diana
