Summer Time Happenings...

I sure had a glorious dark thirty kind of a start to my day early this morning
enjoyed watching the sun come up!
I had a cup of coffee
thought of my friends in blogland!

Like I'm doing again now!

I hope you are all having a wonderful summer.

My summer has been filled with
this, that and the other!
with some time with the ones that
 light up my life!

This picture was taken at our daughter and son in law's new home.
It's always a blast when we are all together!
Of course the grands know Nana has to have a picture of all six of them!

The girls and our Fire Chief!

Our daughter and son in law, they were the ones that lived a few minutes away from us with the little ones...now they are almost 7 hours away! Sigh....

....shh, I'll show you a picture of their new home. I love it, think it's so pretty!! They have a beautiful pool in back...flowers, trees, green trees, big green trees!

Now our three kids and grands live in the same city!
Without us...pooh.

Ellie: (8 yrs.) Nana, we found a house for you! It's in our neighborhood and we all think you'll love it! Can                               you live in our neighborhood?

Nana: (old)  Oh sweetie, of course we would love to live in your neighborhood! I'll check it out on Zillow                                     and hope it's still for sale when we do move.
Reagan: (6 yrs.)  Nana, I need to ask you a question. Are you and Pop really going to move here?

Nana:  Oh sweetie, of course we are! Yes, of course,                                    some day.

Garrett (4 yrs.) Nana, can you come you come over and play with me?

Nana: Oh sweetie, we don't live close to you anymore, remember? If we did, I'd be right over to play.

Garrett: Nana, you can come now... there are a lot of  houses here....you will like them, just come see us now, they are free!

Ahhh, these little ones can melt your heart, can't they?

I'll be back soon~ Take care of you!

Letting Mother Nature Nurture

Well, I hope you all had a glorious weekend that was full of all things you love...

I'll get right to mine...I took my pleasures seriously! They were a must, I know you know about those times.  A must for me - non-negotiable.

I had a weekend that was full of nurturing myself. Yes, I did!  I had not planned on Saturday being a day of nurturing, but it truly was a day of doing nothing at all except deepening my ties with nature, and frankly, doing what I wanted to do. That little voice in my head was nagging, Nancy, this is impractical, I mean really, use your energy in another way, scratch things off your long list. Blasted little voice, I just ignored it completely. Don't you just sometimes wish that voice would just taking a flying leap and leave you alone? Well, full of rebellion, ( I'm finally at that age, seriously where I can do what I want and when I want and not feel guilty.  Oh that foul word and feeling, it's so making it's way out of my vocabulary, God knows, it's healing- My list flew back behind my chair, you know the Johnny Carson flip, flip and throw antic, that was it! Well, threw on my grubbies, laced up my shoes, picked up my camera, sunglasses, visor and was out the door. Chin up and proud, and I was on a mission. A nature and nurture mission.  As I got closer to the pond at the park, it just so happened that I did need my camera in hand! My feathered friend, oh yes, they were up for a photo shoot. Did my manager call them? I was totally in my "Nancy's Notes Nature Magazine" photographer mode. I certainly was not there to enjoy a good sweaty run on the track, no, a good workout was not in my plan. I don't like to sweat. I know, who cares, but I just am sharing. What a Saturday morning...  The weather was just delightful and my feathered friends, they were showy, so engaging, I truly was able to get some beautiful ducks shots, turtle shots, bird shots, weed shots, tree shots, flower shots, airplane shots, yes, I was in my glory. Oh my, just breathing in life's fragrances, feeling invigorated, watching the birds flying all around me, and yes, watching a plane fly over and wondering why I was not on it dreaming about where I wanted to be taken away. One of those mornings... Yes, I was tickled that I was up early and made the decision to let mother nature nurture me. Taking some time for myself, the walk in the park totally enhanced my well being. At the end of this simply wonderful day, we headed to dinner and enjoyed some friend time. At some point, I'll share some great appetizer recipes that I tried on our friends, they gave them a 10! We enjoyed scrumptious grilled steaks, baked potatoes, roasted vegetables with fresh sprigs of rosemary, a green salad and an almond cream cake that would knock your socks off.  And yes, great wine does make for a perfect evening.

Sunday...coming soon.

Here are a few many shots, hope you enjoy!

They crack me up~

You Got It...Yellow!

ARe you ready for some fun?

Well, I woke up this morning and tumbled out of my bed and bang, I thought, today's post will be about my favorite color!

You got it,  YELLOW

Now, I know you all ARE thinking, okay, how can this be stimulating and interesting? Well, be ready to be enchanted with the stimulatIon of my favorite color yellow. Are you all now just sitting on the edge of your seats? Are you ready to scroll down and read about what you think is a mundane subject? Well, I bet that you too will be all be calling yellow your favorite color very soon! ARe you ready to be captivated and totally charmed, I mean really, you could actually think you've been bewitched!

Ladies and Gents... Introducing the most impressive color ever!

Come in and I'll show you a world class color!

You'll first be happy to know...

Yellow is found between green and orange.

And Yellow is commonly associated with gold, wealth, sunshine, reason, happiness, optimism and pleasure

And did you know that the  painter Vincent van Gogh was a particular admirer of the color yellow, the color of sunshine. Writing to his sister from the south of France in 1888, he wrote, "Now we are having beautiful warm, windless weather that is very beneficial to me. The sun, a light that for lack of a better word I can only call yellow, bright sulfur yellow, pale lemon gold. How beautiful yellow is!"

Heavens, did you know that Van Gogh painted sunflowers inside a small house he rented at 2 Place Lamartine, a house painted what Van Gogh called "buttery yellow?"

I know you know this! Van Gogh was one of the first artists to use commercially-manufactured paints, rather than paints he made himself. He used the traditional yellow ochre, but also chrome yellow, first made in 1809, and cadmium yellow, first made in 1820.[11]

Get this...The first recorded use of canary yellow as a color name in English was in 1789

Do you know that the complementary color of yellow is violet; the two colors are opposite each other on the color wheel long used by painters

Of course, Yellow, as the color of sunlight, is commonly associated with warmth. Yellow combined with red symbolized heat and energy.

Well, absolutely a room painted yellow feels warmer than a room painted white, and a lamp with yellow light seems more natural than a lamp with white light!

ARe you about ready to call your favorite color
