Mona Lisa...

Who knew I could take a photograph of this incredible piece of art!
Photography is allowed without a flash in the...

I stood there in total awe...

I had always wanted to see this mysterious painting that I had heard about all of my life. I've always been fascinated with the mystery of the Mona Lisa.
There are so many theories surrounding her that no one will ever know the true meaning of her creation. But, it continues to be said, she knows something we don't.

Artist Leonardo da Vinci
Year c. 1503–1519
Type Oil on poplar
Dimensions 77 cm × 53 cm (30 in × 21 in)
Location Musée du Louvre, Paris

The Mona Lisa (La Gioconda or La Joconde, or Portrait of Lisa Gherardini, wife of Francesco del Giocondo[1]) is a half-length portrait of a woman by the Italian artist Leonardo da Vinci, which has been acclaimed as "the best known, the most visited, the most written about, the most sung about, the most parodied work of art in the world."[2]
The painting, thought to be a portrait of Lisa Gherardini, the wife of Francesco del Giocondo, is in oil on a poplar panel, and is believed to have been painted between 1503 and 1506.[1] It was acquired by King Francis I of France and is now the property of the French Republic, on permanent display at the Musée du Louvre in Paris.[1] The ambiguity of the subject's expression, frequently described as enigmatic,[3] the monumentality of the composition, the subtle modeling of forms and the atmospheric illusionism were novel qualities that have contributed to the continuing fascination and study of the work.[1]

About 6 million people view the painting at the Louvre each year and I'm sure the fascination will continue forever and ever.

Guest Bedroom Redo

This bedroom is a small bedroom that needed help!

Wanted to create a warm and comfortable room for guests~

 Ready for the bare room?

Besides's teeny tiny!

I call that cozy!

 White blank walls...

 Added mirror on this wall

Love the lace look...can see the palms outdoors.

Decided to add this piece
Small painting on an easel
Antique bowl with silk roses
Lamp from Restoration Hardware

This piece of art was made by my mom, she framed a beautiful piece of silk fabric and I just treasure it!
I may try it for another guest room, will have hit the fabric store.

Love the charm of this beautiful bowl, it was a gift given to us by my Mom and Dad on our
20th anniversary.
The added roses give it a romantic look, I think!

I have had this little painting for years and I don't remember where I got it~ I mean years!

Decided to add some prints to the wall next to the mirror.
Bought the prints at Tuesday Morning.

Added these prints next to the window
May get two more...needs it, I think.

Love the lace... softens the room a bit...

 Laura Ashley Bedding-

 Have always liked this pattern.

I'm crazy about ruffled edged sheets.

I'm still thinking about what I want up above the bed.

Am thinking maybe a pretty swag of flowers tied with pretty ribbon...
What do you all think?

Work in progress!

Have a great week!!

Our Star!

Okay, you know that feeling of being so excited, proud, happy that you can hardly stand it?

That is how I felt when our little star stepped on stage!

Our little sweetheart danced her heart out and stole the show!
(Nana thinks so!)
Of course, no camera's while on stage...
Photo shoot for the program!
Showcase Dances were
Shake Your Feathers and Talk About It~

Right after she came off stage!
 Little sis was so proud!

Oh my, our daughter, her mom was beside herself with pride!
She said that when she heard her song cue up, her chest could have burst.
She was so excited, proud, nervous... got tears in her eyes watching her come out.
Me too!!!

 Proud Nana!!!

Did you see my buttons fly off?

Oh the joy of seeing a granddaughter dance on stage...

The best!

Have a wonderful day!
