"Ranch Series" Reasons To Smile~

There's no place in the whole wide world better than being at the ranch~

Our family has been having heavenly times there since way before I was even born.

It's in Heart of Texas!

It's in My Heart~

And many reasons to smile~

My mom watching over a project! She gets right in there!
She is amazing at running the ranch!
Oh and she can hunt, fish, cook, name it, she does it!

I've had the ranch and this precious father of mine on my mind so much this past week.
We lost my daddy this month six years ago. My heart aches to this day.
Dad, oh my, he loved the ranch with all his heart and soul.
He was out there since he was born each and every weekend during his school years and in the summers would stay at the ranch.
We miss him terribly, we see him everywhere on that ranch!
His love shines down on every part of the ranch and on each one of us!

The BEST DAD AND COWBOY EVER!
His first love was the ranch and his family!
Then when he was not at the ranch, he practiced law!
Best lawyer ever!

Here's Mom and my three brothers!
(not at the ranch, am looking!)

Here we are at the ranch with our six grandchildren!
What a bunch of characters!!
( I think our son in law was doing cart wheels!)

 My sweet and happy daughters!

Mom loves being at the ranch!

My son and my daughter in love...and my grandchildren!

Our two fun and oldest granddaughters!

Our sweet granddaughter! The 4th oldest! Her sister is below.

This little missy is our youngest granddaughter!

Oh boy, our two grandsons! The oldest and the youngest!

Got them all together, love it!

As I was looking for pictures and oh my heavens, have thousands of them from the ranch, pulled up this old one. Four generations!
Mom, me, our son and grandson!

Mom and our granddaughter watching the cowboys Round- Up!

Love this photograph.
Love the cattle.
Love the reflections!

Hope you enjoyed the first installment of my

"Ranch Series!"

  6. Nancy, this is a great idea! There has never been a ranch in my immediate family, but my aunts and uncles have been ranchers. Three of my cousins have continued caring for one of my aunt's ranches. It's like going to another world to spend time on a ranch. I take any opportunity I have to spend time at the ranches of several friends and my cousins. Your family ranch is beautiful. I look forward to more of your ranch series. Thanks for sharing!

  8. Oh Nancy, what a wonderful family you have. Now, I said on my post that I prefer new homes, which I do, but if all my kids lived in the same area, I could definitely live on a ranch like this one. So much to do and nature calling everywhere, which I love. What lovely peaceful pictures these are of the ranch, and what a dear picture of your father. I lost my dad about 25 years ago too. You look so young, I could hardly tell you from the grandkids. :~)

    Have a blessed weekend, Nancy.

  19. Hi Nancy, Love this post on the ranch that you and your family love. I teared up reading about your father. He sounds like such a dear soul. I feel just the same about my dad who passed in 1998. I miss him each and every day along with my mother who passed just 22 months after him. God Bless your mother and how wonderful she does so much and loves the ranch too. Your family is beautiful and your pics are very special. I so enjoyed your post and your Good Fences below too.

Thank you for stopping by and your kind comment. Wishing you a wonderful weekend.

  22. Nancy, what a great place to be able to return to and get flooded with sweet memories and make new ones. Great family shots. Yes, grand kids will be goofy in front of a camera.

BTW. You and a few other bloggers' comments don't come to my email anymore, but I find them when I look up blogger and publish them. I am unable to reply back to you by email. I wish blogger would do something about this glitch. It's been going on for quite some time. Have a great day.

  23. Hello there Nancy! Thank you so much for coming to visit me and for your birthday wishes! It was a grand birthday, very low-key and quiet, but filled with thoughtful friends' greetings near and very far.

A RANCH! I remember the days when as an entire family, we'd all go to a friend's ranch in the hills of Oxnard California. Great memories of camping, eating, dancing and singing and horses will always be such a treasure. Those kids will remember your ranch days!

    Enjoy a lovely Sunday, Anita

  26. Oh, I so, so enjoyed this warm, beautiful, loving post. Filled with goodness and love of family and your family is perfectly adorable in every way as is your Mom and You! Even though I call myself a Texan now, and proud of it-been here 30 years! I did grow up on a 150 acre farm in Idaho. I really "get," what you feel when you return to those open spaces.
    Have a truly beautiful Sunday,
    xo

  28. How wonderful to grow up with a place like a ranch in your life, and loving grandparents and parents, going on to have 6 lovely grandkids, still visiting the ranch. Your family is very blessed. I grew up in Houston, so it stirs up lots of memories to see your photos, but I lived in the city so didn't have those experiences. Now I live on 2 acres and spend most of my time gardening and keeping chickens and ducks, I also have 6 grandkids, 5 from my son, one from my older daughter, younger daughter could still have more.;-)
