I am so very proud of my Bareuther Waldsassen Bavaria-Germany tea set, I have had it for many years. It's been tucked away in a china cabinet and decided that I should get it out and play!
This German porcelain is from the first half of the 20th century. Each plate is hand painted and truly exquisite. They each have been painted with incredibly vibrant colors and each one highly detailed. The quality of the painting lends a realism to the flower. Each plate is properly marked on the back, with Bareuther Waldsassen Bavaria-Germany and a style number.
Antique table linens were my mother's, graced many holiday dinners.
If I were going to have an elegant full tea, I would serve a selection of assorted tea sandwiches, freshly-baked scones with Devonshire cream and jam, scrumptious desserts, and a choice of tea and champagne.
I'm joining some great parties this week.

Oh Nancy, it truly is gorgeous china. Each different flower is stunning. The detail is incredible. I would leave it out and play, so beautiful. Putting the glasses on the silver tray with the silver water pitcher is also so pretty and elevates everything to a whole new level too. Great idea. Stunning tablescape. How lucky to have your mom's beautiful tablecloth too. It is so lovely. Thanks for linking to TTT. Hugs, Marty

ReplyDeleteYour table setting is just so pretty, Nancy! Love the botanical pattern- it's more sophisticated than most florals. How wonderful to have you mother's beautiful tablecloth. Like how you used the stemware on the tray. You need to keep these things out in the open so you can admire them AND use them more often, too. Why do we keep things behind closed doors and in cupboards? LOL

Thank you for visiting me yesterday and for leaving such a sweet comment. I never stopped talking when I was a, um.., a KID :) and when I dare stop to look at one of my old report cards they all say the same thing:
"Rebecca talks far to much in class. She needs to learn to be quiet~especially during QUIET TIME!"
Gasp!
I still don't know what "QUIET TIME" is!

ReplyDeleteI laughed when I read your comment on my RL post. Believe it or not, I do indeed have Texas roots. Yep...I am half Texan.;-) My grandmother was a real Texas woman. She and my grandfather(he was born in Missouri, raised in Texas) lived in the Dallas area. My dad was born and raised there. I lived in Waco for about 3 years when I was growing up and spent lots of time during many Summers at my grandparents'.
Pat, that is too funny! I knew you had to have some Texas in you, I just could tell!
