Bye Birdie~

Stratford Playhouse Thespians take to the stage with their new production of
 "Bye Bye Birdie,”
a musical about an up and coming 1950’s rock and roll singer, Conrad Birdie. When Birdie is
drafted into the army, it creates a rippling effect on the teenagers of the small Ohio town in
which the play is set. A “Last Kiss” contest is born to publicize Birdie’s departure, which sends
the whole town into a frenzy.
“Bye Bye Birdie” was based on the popularity of Elvis Presley,
and the effect being drafted into the army had on his career. She is thrilled to bring this
musical to the Memorial community, along with all the fun fifties music and style.

Raindrops on Roses~

Raindrops on Roses~

And Some of

My Favorite Things

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens

Bright copper kettles and warm woollen mittens

Brown paper packages tied up with strings

These are a few of my favorite things

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple strudels

Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles

Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings

These are a few of my favorite things.

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes

Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes

Silver white winters that melt into springs

These are a few of my favorite things

When the dog bites, when the bee stings

When I'm feeling sad

I simply remember my favorite things

And then I don't feel so bad

Just Fun~

Good Sunday Morning!

Yesterday was a wonderful day for this Nana.

I was so proud.

I've missed many a soccer game, volley ball game, lacrosse game, only due to not being well or in the hospital so much this year.

Oh my, I was so excited to watch two great soccer games yesterday.

Be still my heart.

My little sweetie is on the right :)

Number 8

I caught her eye!

In the middle!

There she is! So focused!
She said, "Nana thank you for coming to see me play!:
Aww, such a few words can melt my heart.

Now, here are a few pictures of my little guy!
The cutie in the middle!

Look at that face, he's ready!

Aww, there's my Nana with her camera again!
He told me that he loved me coming to his game...oh my heavens, my heart swelled up so!

Big sis watching the game!
Such a trooper...from 7:40 am to 11:00!

Big sister- proud of her younger siblings~

Love them so much! They make my world go around!
I know if you are a Nana, Grandma, Mimi, GiGi, Grandmother, you get it!

Enjoy your Sunday, hope it's happy and blessed!
I'm off to watch the Masters!
Will check in with my blogging buddies soon~

Savannah~ And That Bench Was Not There :(

Today's post is about our little Spring trip to Savannah a few years back.

What can I say about Savannah other than it's fabulous!

Truly, from Texas up the East coast, my trusty little camera was blazing hot! I've got pictures to boot!  Promise, won't post all!

I just love Savannah! I could live there, I really do think I could.

Can you believe that more than 50 million people have been to visit Savannah in the last 10 years?

It's no wonder! Oh my heavens, Incredible architecture and oh my, colorful flowers everywhere and gorgeous old fountains! Walking around and  riding the Trolley, in Spring time was just perfect.  We took in all the sights and yes, we saw the square where Forrest Gump talked to people while waiting for the bus.  Remember that part of the movie? Loved that movie! I could not wait to see where that part of the movie was shot and to see that special bench, sadly, is no longer located at the square! It was not there!  Who knew? We did not! Oh well, you now have to go to the Savannah History Museum to see it.

Did I mention fabulous restaurants???
Our road trips would not be complete without dining out each evening...that's what we do.  Savannah does have the best restaurants and we did see Paula Deen's restaurant while on the Trolley ride.  While on the Trolley, ahem....there are some people that do stand up in front of you to take pictures...hence, this one below is not one of my pictures of the restaurant. The line in front of her restaurant was a block long. So we did not get off the Trolley and eat there.

Our stay in Savannah was not at one of the old historical hotels, we decided to stay at one of the new chic hotels called the Andaz Hotel in the Historic District. It was delightful, had a totally relaxed urban vibe, total sophistication!
All true, what a stay!

Andaz Hotel - walking distance to everywhere!

I just loved this old wagon filled with flowers!

Hanging plants everywhere!

                        Awesome  buildings...

Beautiful parks.

Right on the water~

Loved this yellow home!

Open Air Market was wonderful! So many shops.
So colorful!

The spring rain, it arrived!

Such a pretty City Hall!

Savannah, it was just so quaint and oh so, charming!
We had a great trip~

I hope we will go back some day~
(maybe even see that bench!)
