It's that time again, another segment of
Nancy's Notes Living
Outdoors...
Pool and Gardens!
I just returned home from a great visit with my Mom. She is the reason I love flowers, gardening and being outdoors. Now our daughters, son and grandchildren have the same love!
I adore this place, it was the outdoors that tugged at my heart the minute we saw this home.
It's park like setting, waterfalls, birds chirping, the cool greens of the shady woods is all it took to know I could be content here. We have been here six months.
Welcome to our peaceful oasis~

Oh my heavens, when we drove up into our driveway, as I always do, after being away...
I look to see how my flowers are doing!
Look, do you see what I see?
What a surprise to see my first hydrangea!
I've never grown them and I just about had a fit when we moved here and found out they grew here!
I'm over the moon!

And these are blooming!
I don't know what they are called, but I'll find out!
Maybe you know!

Our two friends up there in the middle are just having a ball!
I love the waterfall, it's that peaceful sound...healing...
A quiet place...
where I can shut out the world!

That knock out rose bush just keeps on blooming!
Oh my friends, they were wanting to be front and center again!
Again....this sounds like a slice of heaven...
We enjoy sitting out here when Mr. Notes grills.
I've never had magnolia trees...they are beautiful~
My first bloom!
My yellow hibiscus!

The bubbles fascinate me~
My other potted hibiscus~

New bedding plants...
They are learning to garden young, planting flowers around their playhouse! Of course!
And this little love bug loves being in the middle of them!
Of course, it's best way to check to see how they grow...
UP CLOSE!
Well, need to scoot~
Laundry, unpacking, grocery store, mail, all of those delightful chores are waiting!

ReplyDeleteAnd hydrangeas!!How exciting!!
Have a blessed week my friend,
Laura
That lovely hydrangea is a hopeful sign of more to come. We have an ongoing battle with ours and the deer. I would love the sound of the water fall--hope there are some times during the year when you can open the windows to enjoy it indoors too. I enjoyed seeing photos of your family! How lovely for you to be with your mom this past weekend!
ReplyDeleteThose plants that are blooming are Agapanthus that you were wondering about. That's wonderful that you have hydrangeas too! You must be in California? The pictures of the kids are so sweet! I just returned from seeing my mom too!
ReplyDeleteThank you for telling me what those plants are! First time I've ever had them, they are so pretty. We are in Texas! :)
DeleteOh, Nancy! Everything looks so beautiful! I'm so glad you have plants that you love. I can hear the joy in your voice. Your pool area is just gorgeous. I'm so happy for you.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Nancy, Who would ever want a vacation, when you live like this. :):) I love your home place. Your little granddaughter gazing out the window is a little sweetheart. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteBeautiful oasis, yes it is:) I do the same thing! Home from a trip and head straight to see what is budding and/or blooming! Sweet to be outside watching those little ones play! You asked about my Nephew, he is in rehab and doing GREAT! He is getting physical therapy and improving every day! He can now get around in a wheel chair now and he is constantly on the move:) Thanks for asking and for your prayers! HUGS!
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy, what a lovely yard and beautiful blooms. I do the same thing when we are gone awhile. Coming home and seeing the new growth and flowers is like opening a gift. Love the sweet pic of your grand gazing out the window.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the day and your gorgeous surroundings.
Hugs, CM
Nancy dear, your header is by far my all time favorite! Everything in is is precious. I broke into a big grin when I saw it and the polka dotted background. Contented *sigh*...and then I saw the yard and pool. My good heavens, Nancy, you live in a vertual paradise! How lucky you are ..and..you are not living in a drought area. I know it won't be long now and I will lose my front lawn..and it makes me sick. We are already only watering a couple of times a week..watching every drop we use. You are so lucky. Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Mona
That pool with the sparkling trickle of a waterfall....dramatic and ever so beautiful. I have planted a hydrangea too, but I don't know if they even survive in our area. Time will tell. It didn't look so good after the strong winds and heavy rainfall. But, can't complain...I tried.
ReplyDeleteLove the photo of your granddaughter at the window. That could easily be a book cover of some kind. Awesome.
Lovely setting..So serene..Great photos..
ReplyDeleteWow...oasis doesn't begin to describe it, just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI had to smile at your enthusiasm over all the beautiful plants in your garden. I hadn't even realized the magnolias were blooming until last week when I took a day trip over to Jasper and saw all the lovely blooms. I got home and looked up when I drove in the driveway to see my magnolia tree just covered with blooms and buds! My grandmother lived here on the land where I live now and she had gorgeous blue hydrangeas. I'll always remember them and the other spring beauties she tended. Today I have the knockout roses my mother planted years ago (and they have been true knockouts this year), irises, and the first day lily opened today.
ReplyDeleteWOW! What a beautiful place. If we are in any tension this place will make us to feel cool. We need to encourage young gardeners. Whatever they do it will be nice to see. they look cute!
ReplyDeleteNancy, I am sitting here drooling over your beautiful outdoor space! I would never leave! We are currently in the middle of a new landscape project in our backyard and it looks like a bomb exploded! But, hopefully when it is finished it will look like my vision! Have a great day, Pam (everydayliving.me)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteIt's all so beautiful, lush and green and I think I did hear the waterfall there for a bit : ) The grands are just adorable...mine like to help with planting and watering and such too! I especially love that photo of your little granddaughter looking out the window; such a sweet, sweet shot.
ReplyDeleteOh my, I am in awe of your lovely gardens and pool area! What a wonderful place to relax and unwind! I planed hydrangeas for the first time this year...I hope they will live and thrive. I hope you have a great weekend, Nancy!
