Checking In~

This was to go out last week!
Problems with internet :(

Hello to all on this cloudy day! The bright side, these Azaleas are blooming like crazy! They make me smile!

First thing this morning...7:00 am sharp, my DH had a diagnostic procedure preceeding the RAP. Radiofrequency Ablation he'll have next week. Poor sweet man was partially paralyzed at tender age of 57. Those were due to two strokes that were caused by a hereditary blood disorder. Yes, his dad had it too. Years of being in pain, since 2006, modern procedures are now available for him to try and he's gone cold turkey getting off pain meds! So next Monday, he will be having the RAP! God love him! Oh and his precious doctor.

We are a pair!

Oh my, yoju are all so thoughtful! My goodness, such kind thoughts and prayers for my possible upcoming kidney transplant. April 4th is the day I meet all the doctors and everyone involved with the big decision...and that is if I'm healthy enough to have the transplant.  So three months of testing and then I'll found out. So for now...my focus has been on our new beach condo~

That is what we do, we  TRY and focus on other things. :)

So much going on with our beach condo. Okay, we closed last week and for a couple of days we stayed at a resort and just had wonderful dinners, went to bed early and had coffee overlooking the ocean. After the closing we picked out paint and met the painters. Made the trip back home. Left the painters doing their thing. They are are almost done and the carpet goes in today. We were to leave today, but my guy doesn't feel that great . We will head out in the morning.  We will go back to the same wonderful resort and keep our suite there until we get our condo in living order. Our new furniture will be delivered Thursday and Friday of this week. Yikes Y'all,  I ordered so much online since I wasn't that energized to go out and shop. I did for the big things, but will see how it all turns out! Furnishing and decorating is so much fun, but scary too. All I do, when I should be sleeping is decorating in my mind. Yes, sweet dreaming and then some crazy ones! Hope it all comes together when it all arrives!

Perfect Sense!

This is what I read this morning and it does make perfect sense.
I got "The call" yesterday and my very first appointment for a kidney transplant has been set. Gulp. Yes, I'm nervous and thankful at the same time.

Moving on....I've been busy with getting furniture for the new beach condo and that's kept my mind busy.

Today I'll just share some shots I think are interesting!
I've been known to stop where I am and get a picture, on the road, in a doctor's office, at a stop light, name it! So humor me and enjoy!

In a doctor's office, I was captivated by the brilliant colors!

The best butternut squash ever!

I grilled, yes me! The chicken was delicious. I was pleasantly surprised!

The zinnias peeking out, love them~

Last week! First dip in the pool! I did have the heater on and it was a pretty warm day here in Texas! Grandkids had a ball!

I just am in awe of how beautiful the landscaping is at so many shopping centers!

Livestock, Rodeo Time and 4-H time

Vintage Keepsakes...and MORE!!

Well, I've been up for hours, don't ask! Well, okay, it goes like this.

He was up at 2:00 am and so that meant I heard him and I woke up. I also saw that little light that shines when you get out of bed! The under the bed lights that light up when you get up and even when you hang your leg off the bed! Anyhow, I went back to sleep and was sleeping soundly and dreaming of decorating the beach house. A good dream interrupted when he came back to bed at 4:00 am.  That meant I woke up again and could not go back to sleep. Tossed and turned.
Do you all know what I mean, it' happens!
He is not quiet as a mouse.
Bull in china closet, you know?
God love him, he really tries hard to be so quiet!
Anyhow, by this afternoon I'll be dragging myself around unless I get a nap in. That's not in the cards. I'm busy this morning with gathering tax stuff and then I do have a hair appointment at 11:00. Oh, that gray is coming in faster and faster. His looks like silver, mine drab. Anyway, I will have them add a few highlights too. Something that'll turn people's eyes away from my moon face!

That #$*^%$% prednisone, grrrr!
But, I must not complain, it's working!
It's the little things I must be thankful for.

So, since I got up so early this morning and I really needed a cup of coffee, that Keurig is fast. Love it. So, laptop in my lap and quiet, it's dark and outside, really nice.
So I start reading blogs.
You know, you bloggers, you are the best! You blog about wonderful things in your life and you join in on great parties, you take the best photographs ever, you soothe hurting hearts and you pray for healing. Oh my heavens, you are the sweetest group of people ever. I'm blessed to know each one of you.

The other day I had fun taking some photographs of some of my favorite things.
Ahem...you might know that I'm a big collector of many things!
I collect little pitchers, little boxes, little figurines, china plates, little tea sets and crystal and silver!
I'm a mess, I just keep collecting!
Makes me smile and my heart happy~
 I think I'll just continue.

One of my very favorite things to collect are little teacups and saucers. And if they are adorned with flowers, they are bought and out the door with me!

I will just share a few today.

Don't you just love them? Aren't they the prettiest ever?

OH my, it just hit me, it's a special day today!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!
XOXOXO

Me, George and Martha~ An Historical Event!

When February comes around so do amazing, incredible
and exciting memories come to my mind.

Years ago I was honored with an invitation to be presented by the Society of Martha Washington at their Colonial Pageant and Ball here in Texas.
This event is held yearly to celebrate the birthday of President George Washington.  I was one of the young ladies along with our escorts to participate in an elaborate presentation that is
both historical and awe-inspiring.

Sitting on a float during the parade...it was freezing that day!

I get misty eyed when I see this picture, oh my!

I am standing right below and left of President George Washington!

The society chooses two prominent members of Laredo's society to portray President George and Martha Dandridge Washington
The debutantes that are presented every year as well as their escorts, either have family in the Society or are invited as guests. The participants portray contemporaries based on the story line, which changes every year, that come out to honor the President and his First Lady.[6]
My grandmother was one of the very first young ladies to be presented.

Yes, the quality of the photographs are not great...
ahem, you know- think that means
I'm vintage-
Yikes!
