The Heavenly Tea Party...The Planning - Enchanting...

One of my favorite things to do is to entertain~

A Tea Party is a must, don't you think?

"The tea party is a spa for the soul. You leave your cares and work behind.  Busy people forget their business. Your stress melts away, your senses awaken . . ."

 Alexandra Stoddard

I'll be planning much more than what to serve and what kind of tea.

I am wanting to create the perfect ambiance.

I'll plan to make sure my guests are happy and will remember the tea forever!

I'll be sure to have some lovely music and flowers that will fill the room with a delightful fragrance.

Everyone will go away soothed by the sweet talk that will be going on and nothing will be hurried, not even me!

It'll be a time to remember!

A few of my favorite things I may use...

Oh my...things like this just happen...
I say the words "my favorite thingss"
and
out of the mouth this comes belting out!

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things

When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad~

A Rare Possibility~

I'm so curious!

Okay, I've been wondering for a long, long time about this simple and precious little piece. I do not have any information about this piece and I've had it for years. Would love to know the name of the pattern, if there is one.

It was an anniversary gift and I'll forever treasure it! It makes me happy just to look at it.
I have silk flowers placed in it and it's sitting pretty on a nightstand in one of the guest bedrooms.
I love it~

There is not one letter or word on the back.

Any ideas?

Pssst, if it's not a rare antique, please don't tell me!

I'll keep my rose colored glasses on and just go believing it's one of a most coveted collector's piece...

Decorating...

Just thinking...

You know, I could really sit for hours if I were not blogging and flip through decorating books and magazines, could you?

Okay, have you ever taken one of those decorating attitude tests?

Well, if you have not, a question would go like this.

# 1 After a hard day, you would love to come home to a room:

A. With soft comfortable seating, a fire in the fireplace, lots of family pictures surrounding you?

B. With large areas of glass, a few pieces of classic furniture (both old and modern,) and a collection of contemporary art and sculptures?

C. With quiet elegance, Queen Anne furniture, and mellow Oriental rugs?

#2 You would prefer to sit and read in:

A.  In a squishy and comfy armchair covered in soft, nubby fabric, where you can see geraniums blooming on a patio overlooking a pool?

B. An antique Chippendale wing back chair covered in Toiles de Jouy and close to lovely French doors that open onto a garden with a water fountain?

C. A classic steel and leather chaise positioned to view the skyline at sunset?

Oh my, confusion has set in!

Check out Better Homes and Gardens Decorating books, similar and confusing questions are there.

Oh dear, I've changed my answers so many times. One day I feel one way, another day....who knows!

I read that that each home should have a specific style, whether it's rustic, contemporary, classic or just plain eclectic. ...

You don't want your home looking like a garage sale, so if you can't make up your mind, use the different styles in separate rooms.

Hummm....

Wow, had not ever thought that my home could possibly look like a garage sale style! I'll take just plain eclectic!

What's your style?

Not a bit related to this post, but Nana could not resist!

Check out their dress up style!

Just plain fancy!

Loving that lipstick!!! Eye shadow too...

Oh my, high heels feel off somewhere!

(Dresses were my daughters, gracious humpteen years ago. Have many!
