Summer is almost gone and so it's gone in my home. The only remnant of summer- central air. Since it's still summer weather here, it's necessary to bring some of my old touches of fall back again. I need want that old fall feeling! Nothing really new, just rearranged and moved around. Ahh, the fun of re-arranging. Even if we don't have distinct changes in seasons, I create them in our home. I love Autumn, it's like the beginning of a new year, except it's not with champagne, horns or confetti.
Oh, Autumn, it's such a warm feeling, the beauty of fall opens up so much for me, in my thoughts and in my surroundings and yes, and in my kitchen. I am waiting for that first cold snap~ I know, don't even think it or tell me that that may be a long time in coming. I am very good at creating that feeling in my heart. I am anxious for that first pot of soup simmering on the stove and my old iron skillet filled with some scrumptious cornbread...with a few jalapeno's added for a bit of spice.

I know you all will cringe, but in September, I also get excited about Thanksgiving and Christmas! Yes, I do-
Some of my old touches of fall, I am still in the midst of creating that feeling...

All of your decorations are just gorgeous. I especially love that wonderful chair, and the animal print pillow is so pretty too. I think the same thing when I think of fall. Wonder why we always think of a farm? Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteI think September is my favorite month because it brings to mind the upcoming holidays. Around here, September also brings the long shadows and changing trees of early fall. It means I can decorate for fall, plan my October trip home to the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia and start planning for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Thanks for sharing your feelings and lovely decorations. You are ahead of me as I'm still just thinking.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie

Hi Nancy... oooh, I love your touches of fall everywhere... Autumn is my very favorite time of year too and I love to decorate for it... the little rocking horse is precious! I also love your deep, rich warm colors you use... and yes, I spotted Tom Selleck on the current issue of "Cowboys and Indians"! I buy those too! (He is still a hunk!)...soup simmering on the stove and cornbread in the oven... YUM!... Wishing you a beautiful Autumn day... xoxo Julie Marie

ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
shelia ;)
Nancy, your fall decor is lovely and your spiral staircase is enchanting! My favorite thing is the rocking horse!! Of course, I know my Little Man would love to give it a ride! ;)
ReplyDeleteThat last photo is what it's all about! We don't have to wait quite as long as our friends in the US for Thanksgiving, as it arrives on the first Monday of October - the weather should be nice and crisp by then. When I get home for a few hours on Saturday and before leaving again on Sunday I'll put a wreath on the door and put away the outdoor furniture - I love fall too!
ReplyDeleteOh I love your chair and we have the same granite! Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!
