The Storm Chaser!

Last night I felt like a storm chaser!!

We had a thunderstorm warning and I decided to take some photographs. The sky was quickly changing and I was in fine form and ready with my trusty camera.

To say, I was totally involved in taking as many photographs that I could, an understatement.

Did my husband think I was nuts, yes!

I was so involved with my  "photography hobby", I have a fairly new camera and I was having a blast! I was running out the front door and back out to the back deck and then running from room to room, was in my glory.

It was only after the Mr. was adamant
that I no longer stand outside.

I was never in danger.

I truly felt like I was taking photographs to send to our local television station's meteorologist! I know he would have been captivated with the shots, I know he would have so wanted them for his 10:00 o'clock news segment! I just know it.

Sitting here with these great shots, I decided to share them with you!

Okay, I know, you all may not suppose these photographs are as sensational as I do, but, shh...just don't tell me!  Humor me!

Headed out the front door first. Could tell something was brewing...our light came on way too early.

Another from out front.

From here down, the photographs are from the back deck.

Lightening.

The thunder rolls.

 Had to come inside!

I could not see anymore!
Lights went out!

That's all for now!
(Oh yes, I do have many more, however, I think I have shared enough for now!)

Hope you are all having a great day!

Nancy

  10. Hi Nancy,
We bloggers will do anything for a good photo to post! LOL! Even risk our lives, walk through blinding snow, lean out of a 20 foot story building, leap single bounds, hop a moving freight train and chase down the Habitat truck!!!....well, I might be exaggerating just a little! LOL.

Your photos made a good post and you captured that storm spot on girl.

    hugs

  22. You did good with your photos! I have to admit - Storm rolls in, I duck for cover. 2 good rain drops would probably wipe out my camera. :D I am watching radar now to see if I need to shut the computer down.

  30. I love storms. I am from Indy, so we had lots of storms growing up there. In CA we don't get much storms. I have lived here for almost 15 years and can count on one hand how many times we had REAL storms. People are fearful of too much rain out here too.

I loved your photos and I love it that you made us wait until after the story to show us. Very Cool!!!!

  31. Oh noooo, that is too funny! I can just picture your running back and forth with your camera trying to get the peferct shot! Last week I was out during a hail storm trying to get my flower pots inside, it was crazy weather, thought I was going to be struck by lightening, not good! You really got some great shots, though! I'm so happy you enjoyed my Show and Tell Friday ~ Girls Just Wanna Have Fun! It really was wonderful designing this table to celebrate "PINK" and all things that remind me of romance! Thank you for visiting and leaving your sweet comment! Note to Nancy...thunder and Lightening is very dangerous!

  32. Oh my... the Austin area is so pretty! Don't storms just take your breath away sometimes? We have been having a lot of storms this past week... the pups are not happy about it, but I could listen to the rumble of thunder all day long and never tire of it.

  33. Oh GIRL! You are a woman after my own heart! I LOVE STORMS! We don't get very many here in So Cal so when we do - CAMERA IS READY! I have yet to capture a lightning strike. I need a trip pod - and a very slow shutter speed - nothing which I have time for because they roll through in the blink of an eye. Can you tell my photography skills need improving? LOL.
    LOVED THIS!
Thanks for posting the Sorority! I think we are all going to have a blast!!!!
I'm off to go add you to the list. I'll see you at the party on the 25th!
