Style Radar!

Did you get your "Trend Report" in an email from Neiman Marcus this morning? (lol, my husband says, needless markup, shame on him.)

I did not intend this to be my post today, but decided to go with it, deemed appropriate due to the email this morning.

Okay, I enjoyed reading the report, I did. I love to read.

I am running out to shop for all of my Fall Wear today, aren't you? lol

GREEN MILITARY INFLUENCE (why, yes, have it all )
CAPES, PONCHOS AND VESTS (done deal)
FUR, LACE, FEATHERS (of course)
A WARDROBE OF BOOTS (no problem)
STRUCTURED HANDBAG AND PEARLS (why yes!)

Highlights:

With a closet of feminine, pretty pieces, you're ready to steal the leading role. (why, yes!)

Independent, trendsetting, free-spirited. For you, fashion is all about having fun. (always)

Always pulled together with a strong, well-edited fashion sense; a weakness for the new wave of American designers. (I can do this)

You know how to appreciate the creature comforts like soft silhouettes & luxurious fabrics. ( I know how to do this)

Inspired by ladylike, iconic styles of decades past, but unafraid to put your own modern twist on it. (yes, of course!)

With an eye on the runway, you want the newest trends. (not really)

You're willing to take a risk & always add your own interpretation. (without a doubt)

I can do all of this and I am ready! (as I sit here in my t-shirt, capri's and flip flops!)

I do like to read about fashion and trends.

Do I follow fashion trends?

Not unless it works for me, trendy things don't fit my body style. Imagine that. I still wear what may have been trendy years ago, that's trendy to me. I think (and who really knows!) that my style tends to be on the simple and classic side. I love gold, silver, turquoise and big bling, okay, I love "big" bling. I tend to dress in a classic style with a bit of the romantic side, at times I may add a touch of fun trendy to some casual.  I do enjoy the fun of putting outfits together, I love scarves and belts, and if you don't know, I have a passion for shoes and purses.

So there you have it, it's me!

(psst...by no means is this me on a daily basis! You'll find me in capri's and a classic white blouse most of the time during the daytime and wearing sandals. (you also could drop in and find me in my grubbies, old blue jean shirt, visor and flip flops...always with perfume on.)

So, what do you think about fashion and do you follow trends?
What's your style?
Do tell!

Have a blissful and of course, fashionable day!

  1. My style? My 'daily uniform'....at least in the hot summer months in TEXAS is: Short denim jumper with a sleeveless t shirt...no shoes and ALWAYS perfume and earrings! ALWAYS! Now when I go OUTSIDE the house (other than in the yard!)....well...that is always up for grabs! But at my age, if I can't SLEEP in it and be comfortable....FORGET it! I then toss it in the Goodwill bag!

  2. Okay, here goes... (isn't this funny, Nancy? Our styles have developed through some of the same influences) I love jeans and white blouse/shirts with plenty of Pandora and Tous and my James Avery silver/gold earrings. I always have at least a little Very Irresistable on... and always makeup. If I don't do anything else for myself during the day.. I put my makeup on. It frames my mind. I love a good white Ralph Lauren shirt 'cause they just fit good... cuffs always rolled ... 'cause your mom always did. Bet you didn't know I noticed.
So that's my casual wear... but that is me. And the way I want to be all day if possible. I do like my Coach purses, but haven't found one yet that just says "use me daily". Someday.

  3. My body certainly does not fit the style setting trends that they display on toothpicks. I have womanly curves and like you right now I an in t-shirt, capris and flip flops. I do dress nicer for church or for a nice dinner out though, but still not the latest trends.

  4. I am thinking dear Nancy. I do wear summer dresses and skirts a great deal. They are cool to me in this heat. I am basically a gypsy in that I love and wear lots of silver. I do not like white mostly because I was forced to wear it as a nurse forever. I do not follow trends at all. I do like to look at them. I have the hardest time finding knee lenght shorts but I wear them with tanks all the time in the house.
    Fun post. olive♥

  5. Hey Nancy!

I always like to stay current with fashion. For work wear, I will do a lot of slacks, blouses and blazers. I also love skirts. For more casual wear, I love my jeans or capris (like I'm wearing toay). I won't leave the house without my hair fixed and makeup on. Even though I like to be fashionable, that doesn't mean runway fashionable. Who really buys the clothes shown at fashion shows? Nobody in Iowa, that's for darned sure! ha!

  6. Jeans, slacks and nice tailored shirts, most always white. A few well chosen tee shirts and tennis shoes or nice flats. Around the house I may not even have makeup on. Very casual. I do dress nicer for church or a night out. I spent too many years in the corporate world with too many suits to do that route again. I still love a good blazer though. Great jeans or slacks, white tee or shirt and a blazer and I still think I can go anywhere. Hugs, Marty

  7. Sounds like Neiman's has nothing on you!
My style is pretty much jean capris, bohemian style tops over a long cami.
I always wear make-up and my favorite perfume, Mademoiselle by Coco Channel. I also live in flip-flops or sandals. I also love wearing my Brighton jewelry and my Pandora bracelet.

  10. LOL! Fun post, Nancy! Thanks for visiting my blog today and leaving your sweet comment! :)

My style? Boho-beach-chic, of course. Jeans (faded fashionably in all the right places and definitely flared), boho empire tops, and flip flops. That's my everyday affair. For dress up? Love my black palazzo pants with a chic top and my black VS boots. :) And always nice, big earrings, my fav man-style watch, and a silver bangle. Simple!

  11. I am a jeans and white shirt/t-shirt type of gal. I wear classic clothes. Preppy almost. Navy Blazers, pearls - chunky and thin strands. I always wear pearl earrings. Never wear perfume.

While at home in my studio, my jeans are paint spattered. I love flip flops at home.

  12. I'm not a keen follower of fashion; not a follower at all, come to think of it. When women are starving themselves so they can be starvation thin, when there are people starvation thin because there's no food... there's just something about that juxtaposition that makes me shake my head, sorrowfully.
Like Penny, I wear classic clothes and while I'm beyond the head turning age, I still manage to get my fair share of compliments when I go beyond the farm. People are so sloppy anymore that whenever someone looks the least bit presentable, they stand out in a crowd.
Pearls, perfume and classic clothes never go out of style.

  13. OK Nancy-
You know my style because we like the same things!
I think I am in a rebellious stage right now- after so many years of having to dress each day for school.
    Reading this, I am inspired.
I need to do better daily-

  14. Well Nancy, in the good 'ole summertime, I wear capris and flip-flops or sandals! I dress up on Sunday for Church and that's about all:) I love black and white, in fact I wear it too much but I do love it! I am not a trendy person but do so try:) I like belts and scarves too and jewelry! I think you can dress up about anything with some great jewelry!

Have a blessed and peaceful evening! HUGS!

  15. Since I used to be a clothing salesperson, I love to read about the trends. When I was working outside the home (in either a retail or office setting), I bought a lot of new clothes each season.

Now that I'm a stay at home/home school mom, each season I try to pick up some inexpensive trendy accessories that I can mix in with my basics to try to stay stylish yet not break the bank.
