Jewelry Adventures!

These pieces of jewelry, be they antique or vintage fill my heart with memories of my precious mother. She had many precious and vintage jewels in her jewelry collection.

I know she and my dad traveled and she did dress to the nines! You know, hats and gloves too! Back then you dressed up when you traveled by air and you dressed up to go to football games, and of course, monthly Dine and Dance club. They were quite social!

I am quite certain these pieces of treasures have had some very special adventures!

I  do love vintage and antique jewelry and oh yes, I love the real thing too!

The romance of the past...

such a special past...

with such timeless beauty just right for today.

I'm always dreaming about the unique story

our  jewels carry.

  1. Nancy...I love the jewelry. Oh I am like you. Love the history and the stories they tell. I love vintage pieces. I have a few pieces that belonged to my motherinlove. The pieces I have are all costume jewelry but I love it. If I see something I really like even in a thrift store I grab it. Of course my intentions to make something with it but most often never do. But, I can't help but wonder what story those pieces would tell. The places they have gone too. I have lots of costume jewelry and my granddaughters (younger ones now) love playing with them. Enjoyed this post so much. Hugs and blessings Nancy. Cindy

  3. This makes me think about a group of 12 women in town, The Women of Jewelia. Someone found a gorgeous diamond necklace (one of the ladies is married to the owner of an upscale jewelry store in town) that was VERY EXPENSIVE. It was also not something one would even have the occasion to wear much especially in our funky little beach town. The 12 of them got together to buy it and each woman gets it for one month a year. On special occasions they can borrow it from whomever is the "owner" that month.

  6. Nancy, these pieces are absolutely gorgeous...and priceless in that they belonged to your mother. I love vintage jewelry; but, of course, I love jewelry of today as well:) I'm probably one of the few women who really prefer costume jewelry to the real thing...lol!!! I have lots of jewelry and I am hoping that someday (way down the road:) that my granddaughter will want at least a lot of it and that she will feel about my things the way you do your mother's. (Thanks so much for dropping by my blog and leaving a comment.)

  7. I remember wearing a lot of jewelry when my girls were young. Matching earrings and bracelets, and I loved wearing my watch necklace. My daughters and I still wear a lot of bracelets...all at once!!! lol. Your mother's pieces are beautiful! Isn't it fun to look at all the pretty pieces with your girls? Debbie xo

  8. Oh, these jewelry pieces are pretty, Nancy, and the fact that they belonged to your mother makes them even more special. I have a couple pieces of my mom's too that I cherish. That red bracelet is a beauty. And the last bracelet is very unique. Your mother had style for sure. Isn't that something that they dressed in gloves and hats back in the day. I like that idea, cause we can get sloppy when we go out sometimes. I know I do. ; ) I really liked this post, Nancy, and I love to see vintage jewelry anytime.

  9. Precious memories indeed. I don't wear a lot of jewelry but I do have some that I treasure, more for the memories attached than for any (possible) value in money. (Some inherited, some I got as gifts, some I bought myself.)
