Fall In My Heart...

Summer into fall...
Since I can remember, I've waited for fall...
Waited for cooler weather-
and
Waited for cooler weather-
and
And yes...
 Waited for cooler weather!
98 yesterday-
97 today-
Get this
100 next Monday!
(why do I even look??)
So, unless I move and that's out, I'll just make fall happen in my home and thoughts.
List of things to do asap.

Bring fall arrangements in.
Put fall placemats out.
Get some awesome smelling potpourri.
Put out fall pillows.
Plant fall flowers.
Keep AC on high.
Put capri pants away.
Put sandals away...well, maybe.
Wear sweaters and pretend.
Don rustic and jewel toned clothing.
Pretend our trees are changing colors, not just dry.
Smell the goodness in the air.
Bake, make soups and stews and roasts.
Listen to the band play on Friday evenings.
Read all that my friends in the NW and NE tell me about their weather and pout and pray.  Their heater going this morning, good grief!
Wait for the heat to pass.
Wait some more...

I dream of this...a road trip maybe?

Oh, I love these flowers, they will be on my table soon.
Now, if we have a fire going, I know I'll be ready to deck the halls! Woo hoo!
I'm waiting for that too.

I'm really ready to deck the halls, I am! I could! Never too soon for me. I am one of those happy ones that loves Christmas decorations going up at Hobby Lobby, all of the malls, Walgreens, wherever-
Makes me so happy.
I admit it. The longer it lasts, the better.

Okay, I know we have a few other wonderful holidays in between now and December,
but, I can't wait!

But, back to fall, I love fall.

Are we there yet?
Not quite, I'll let you know,
but it's just taking way too long.
Blah...blah...blah.

Oh, I'd better watch out-

 Nancy
xo

PS Has the heat caused this delirious state?

  2. GREAT posting, Nancy!! I'm with ya on all of this. I love Christmas decorating so much that I am thinking about it the whole time I'm decorating for Fall. "Okay, if I use lotsa red in my Fall decorating, does that mean all I have to do is remove the orange and brown and replace it with mega amounts of green holly and candy canes?" Hmmmm....
In my mind I am seeing you zooming through your beautiful home decorating!
    Love ya girl!!

  3. I make no bones about bein' a summer kinda chick and I loved that yesterday was 80 but we've also had some 40 degree mornin' that remind me that wood and a fire are not far away.

That said...I could decorate for Christmas any time of year. Love it...can't get to much of it.

Ya'll have a marvelously beautiful blessed day!!! :o)

  4. Loved this, Nancy! Fall is my favorite season, too. And you're funny about Christmas! Ever since I was a kid (long time ago!), I always dug out my Christmas albums and started playing them when the weather first turned cool/cold! Usually in October! I'm right there with ya....Wish I could help your temperatures fall!

  6. We are finally getting some cooler weather. I agree it's hard to feel like Fall when it's 100 degrees. Hang in there and hey Christmas will be here soon! hugs, Linda

  7. Oh I wish for you rain and cooler temperatures. We, thankfully, had rain last night, but still have had very little rain this summer. It is cooler and the a/c is off.

  15. I had to laugh all the way through your post. We have been between 104 and 107 and they promise we'll be down to 99 by next week. I don't think Fall is ever going to get here. I just pretend since it never gets very cold here anyway. Cute post. Hope it cools down soon. Hugs, Marty

  23. Funny you should mention Christmas, Nancy. Having just moved my hubby told me today that we have way too much Christmas stuff that needs to be stored. When we left New York last Monday night it was in the 70's and very humid. Our arrival into Ohio was cool and it felt oh so good after that humidity. It has remained cool here since and I'm guessing it will stay this way now! As long as I'm dressed for it, I love it!
