Moments in Time...Oh my sweet Grandmother~

Do you ever glance at something and it brings back a memory?

It's that moment in time that opens up your heart to another place and time.

Sort of like hearing a song and oh my, a memory pops in your head!

Sort of like the aroma of early morning coffee brewing.

A freshly cut lawn...bacon frying, name it!

Well, these three little boxes remind me of my precious grandmother, they were hers and
I love them!

Yes, I've got some other treasures that were hers, but these melt my heart.
They are simple, yet beautiful.
I treasure her little boxes.
I remember them so well in her home.
I remember looking at them in her home, years ago.
They were sitting on her dresser on her bedroom.

She was such a special lady~
She dressed every day like it was a Sunday!
Always had a smile on her face.
Grandmommy was a fantastic cook too!
There was always that wonderful aroma when you walked in their door!

She lived to be just short of 100 years old!
A precious and beautiful woman, inside and out~

I collect boxes and have forever! I like to think I got that special love from her.

It's the little things...

January 30, 1898- April 10, 1997

Missing and loving you more than words can say.
Till we meet again, Grandmommy~

My Mom, my Grandmother and my Aunt Jo!

  6. Oh how special Nancy. I have a few things too. I never got to meet my grandmother as she died when my mother was 10, but my mothers oldest sister, Nell, was just like my grandmother and I loved her dearly. Have a few things of hers and often think of her. Memories are so special and yes they do keep your loved one in your heart.
Such a beautiful picture of your grandmother. She sounds so much like my Aunt Nell always dressed up and waiting for someone special to stop by.
    Have a wonderful week Nancy.

  11. Nancy, I can definitely relate to the words and thoughts in this post. Things that belonged to my grandmother or mother are priceless in my mind. I don't have many things, but the ones I do have are very meaningful and spark wonderful memories.

  12. Nancy, this is such a precious post. I do not have any memories of a grandma. I was just a baby when my grandma died and my mom was really almost old enough to be my grandma when she had me! She was kind of both mom and grandma to me...does that seem strange? There are many little things that I have of hers that stir up so many precious memories of her! She lived to be nearly 98 and would be 103 if she was still alive today. I love the darling ceramic boxes...treasures you will always cherish!

  19. I have little from either of my grandmothers - in fact, just a few odd pieces of the wedding china from one (it was divided up amongst the granddaughters, not a really good idea) and nothing at all from the other. Your little boxes are precious - and so are the memories. Your grandmother lives on and on in them.
