Okay, I've not shared this with you and decided since it's been my new life, I'd just share and have a little writing therapy at the same time.
Nancy's Note today...
I was diagnosed with Wegners Granulomatosis in November. I'm taking chemo therapy treatments weekly and will for two years. A bit daunting, but doable. I take 5 little chemo pills every Monday night and they are doing their magic! I'm so thankful and I'm blessed that I don't have to go to a medical facility and that this new pill form is working for me. How cool is that! The plan is for it to be in remission at that time and not come back. It's not curable, but it is manageable. It's going to be okay, I know that everything comes into your life with a purpose and I'm facing this head on, I will just deal with this with a positive frame of mind and I will not let anything slow me down and I'll always want to keep humor around, it's necessary, right? Wegners Granulomatosis, stepped in what???
So, no worries, I'm good!!
I love my blogging friends. I love blogging. It's such a wonderful thing in my life! I started blogging because I was home all the time caring for my husband who had a two strokes at the age of 56! He's back to being himself now and doing almost everything except being able to play golf or run his businesses. So those were sold and we are and have been together 24/7 since 2006! Ahem... oh joy!! I'm just kidding! Really, we have learned that our own space is good!!
So blogging is important and it's best therapy ever, I love it. I so enjoy reading your blogs. It's amazing how many friends I've made that are just beautiful, funny, incredible and truly amazing women, inside and out.
Just want to share a couple of books that are my "go to" books for comfort and joy. And really, just to remind myself that things are going to be okay.
Simple Abundance and Life Can Be Hard Sometimes are wonderful books.
On a totally different note, all of these new ways to find everyone is just sort of making my head spin!
Are you all finding that these additional ways to find a blog are a bit overwhelming too?
I'm now trying Bloglovin. I will see how it works since my blog roll was yanked away from my blog! Grrr...
Oh, a few words from Sarah's book regarding restoring serenity to our daily
endeavors.
"The time has come for us to stop associating serenity with the things that
cannot be changed. For we can dramatically change the quality of our lives when
we consciously seek to restore serenity to our daily endeavors."
How?
"When we stop behaving as if they were whirling dervishes.
" As I sit here typing this like a maniac!!!
Have a great day, sweet friends!

ReplyDeleteHi Nancy. Thank you for sharing today. You have a wonderful attitude and I, too, will be praying for you. I am so blessed to have the love, support and prayers of blog friends, also. God bless you. Mildred
ReplyDeletep.s. Mary Clewley has a blog http://hopefilledliving.blogspot.com/ that is very uplifting and several inspiration books, if you are interested.
Sweet and sincere post this morning Nancy. Praying for you and asking our Lord to shine, shine, shine! If you do not have the devotional book called, Jesus Calling you should get it. It has been just what the Doctor ordered for me! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteNancy, You are in my thoughts and prayers. Don't ever lose your faith...God has made you a strong woman. You know attitude helps us and prayer is power. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteNancy, let me just tell you how refreshing it is to hear your positivity! I haven't been blogging for all that long (just started in June of last year) and have only been following you for several months. Just this morning, I happened to notice your blog title in my list and realized I hadn't seen a post from you lately...then a little later, this post popped up! We never know when we might be faced with a health crisis and I hope and pray that I will have your attitude when and if I do! Sending prayers for you as you continue your treatment. God is using you as a great example and giving hope to all of us, no matter what we might be going through!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Debby
Nancy, thanks for sharing your personal struggles. We are right here for you and to support you.
ReplyDeletexoxo, Kim
dear nancy, bless you. thank you for sharing this personal news - i googled and learned about the disease. i am SO glad you are able to take a pill form! and better that it is working! continued progress to you as you fight this into remission. your positive attitude is giving your body healthy cells as we speak. :)
ReplyDelete(as for blog rolls - i've not relied on mine for several years. i use feedly - similar to bloglovin - to read all my blogs)
ReplyDeleteDear Nancy. Thanks for sharing your story today. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. You have such a great attitude. I have the book Jesus is Calling. It is a wonderful book.
ReplyDeleteI was diagnosed with thyroid cancer back in 2004. I had surgery and radioactive iodine treatment. Then it popped up again in 2011. Had another surgery and the iodine treatment. Not it has popped up in my lungs and is not operable. I just had an appointment with an Oncologist at May Clinic. He is awesome and we will be making a plan of attack next week after he consults with my Endocrinologist. I am very optimistic. It seems we all have things to deal with in our lives and a positive attitude and faith in God really helps. I am so happy to have you as a blogging friend.
Many Blessings to you!
Well, first off- I am so sorry that you will have to deal with that disease, Nancy. Life is just a series of "things", isn't it? You have had your plate full for a few years with your hubby's illness and now dealing with this. That was one of the things they checked me for when my immune system was (is) all screwed up but I was missing several markers for it. The good thing is that they can get you into a remissive state and you can stay that way for many, many years. Hope you don't have too many side effects from the chemo pills.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy to have met you here in blogland, Nancy. I think that many of are here for a deeper purpose than just sharing our newest room arrangement. I am happy that you have shared this with us-I will support you with prayer and in way you can.
As a wi8fe that had a hubby home 24/7 for MANY years I often thought about running away!;>) xo Diana
My heart goes out to you my friend. You have a lot to deal with but I would have never known. You have such a positive outlook on life and a happy spirit. You always shine here on your blog. And I know you are strong, too....a fighter and a person who likes to make things right...to solve things. I'm very proud of you for sharing this so openly. I will keep you and your hubby both in my prayers and I know that makes a difference. Sending you lots of sweet hugs. I'm glad we're friends and I'm here for whatever support I can be. You have lots of good friends! Sweet hugs, your blog buddy, Diane
ReplyDeletePraying for healing and strength. I have read Simple Abundance. It was good. I do love your strong attitude and your decision to share such a private occurrence in your life.love, olive
ReplyDeleteWhat a heartfelt post, Nancy. The longer I blog, the more I see God's hand working among the women in this little community of bloggers. The people that He will surround you with for strength, and encouragement will amaze you.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was diagnosed with uterine cancer two years ago, the bloggers that came together in support, with prayer, and love helped me beyond belief. I see two women that never stopped caring for me right here....leaving their sincere commitment to help you with prayer, and their friendship whenever you need them.
When you feel the ups, and downs of your emotions are too overwhelming to handle....none of us will mind if you use your blog as a "vent" once in a while. A lot of us have been in your place. Some of us are walking with you now. There is always someone that understands.
You have a great attitude, and strong faith.....good for you!!!!
One day at a time.
So glad we connected when we did, Nancy.

Oh my goodness, I'm overwhelmed with every comforting word that I've read! I'm so blessed to have such wonderful friends here. It has taking me awhile to decide to put this out there, so I just did it. Don't know why I did it yesterday, just did. It's my new normal and I decided it was time, I guess! The strength I've already received is such a huge blessing. Blogging friends are just the best! From the bottom of my heart, dear friends, thank you for your encouragement and comforting support.
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings to each of you.
Nancy

Hello Nancy
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by my blog and leaving a nice comment. I'm afraid I too will have to Google what you stepped in and at the same time, am amazed you can be treated with pills. Sending thoughtful wishes from Ontario and I admire your positive attitude. I'll check out the recommended books.
I've been using Bloglovin for some time and I'm following you now with it.
Nancy . . .
ReplyDeleteSuch an inspiration you are and have been since first meeting you three years ago when I started my blog. I was thrilled when you popped back in after being gone for awhile. Maybe now I know a bit more about the BEING GONE for awhile.
You give such an uplift when you post, share pictures of your sweet children and most of all send sweet notes of Love and Kindness
to me . . . (When I comment from my iPad it sometimes locks up and I can't correct, thus my two part comment.).
ReplyDeleteAs I was saying . . . such an inspiration you are. I loved that you shared your recent journey with us. I find the intimate thoughts we share with our friends in this blogging hemisphere tend to come back ten fold with hugs, prayers and caring . . .
I wish just that for you . . .
Love, Lynne
Thanks for sharing, Nancy. Sharing is how we bond with each other. Keep up the positive attitude and laughter, that helps greatly, as Valerie Harper has shown us! Yes, blogging is really good therapy, you have a lot to give, as you are very talented.

Katherine

ReplyDeleteHi Nancy,
ReplyDeleteThank you for trusting your friends, these blogger buddies, who are in contact with each other for a good part of their day, supporting one another along the way. I am so very glad that you are on a effective medical program that will work to keep this condition in remission. Although I am just getting to know you, I can sense that you are a strong and positive individual, one who enjoys bringing happiness to those around her. Praying and thinking of you, sweet, new friend!
Have a lovely weekend!
Poppy

Hi Nancy,
ReplyDeleteSo thankful for your visit... and so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Praying for you to get through this with minimal suffering.
The blog community is such fun (been blogging for 7 years) but I still do not know all of the in's and out's of how to connect. :) Every day is a journey.
Enjoy your weekend,
Jillian
Your positive attitude is admirable. I am glad you shared so that your blogging friends can support you and pray for you. I certainly will.
ReplyDeleteAfter five years of blogging I can say it is a wonderful supportive community. I continue to enjoy all my blogging friends learning from them and being inspired. Technology and trends don't stop so it is always a challenge to keep up but that keeps us young and always learning.
I hope you have a wonderful week.
Joining right in with prayers for you, Nancy! Great to read about your positive attitude and happy you will continue to blog. Hugs :)
ReplyDeleteSo much stirring in you and your husband's lives. Take cate

...and Nancy, I hope this therapy and meds on Mondays will get you back to 100% better!!! The magic of modern medication and knowledge works wonders!! Yes, do continue to blog...your up days and down days. We're here for you.
ReplyDeleteHi!
I'm trying to catch up on your posts after you left me a comment last week while I was out birding most days along with a national birding convention being held in our city. Hope your week ahead is a good one. Thanks for stopping by to leave me a comment.
Ah, Nancy, life has a way of taking us in directions we'd never even thought of heading. I'm glad that you are able to take the pills at home without the necessity of entering a medical facility. I like how you think!! I am joining many others in vowing to remember you in prayer...........and sending an email.
ReplyDeleteNancy, I must have missed this post during my whirlwind trip to Texas to take care of Mom! So sorry to hear you are ill but you seem to have the right attitude! You are facing this with a great attitude and you are a strong woman and will be fine! Prayers sent your way. You are such a sweet blogging friend.
ReplyDeletehugs, Linda
Nancy, I know a positive attitude such as yours will go sooo far! Medical miracles come along almost weekly for these things, but I'm so sorry to hear this. I love your blog. Happy May Day!
