Well, yesterday morning I went out to water my flowers and I found out that those old blasted black birds have taken up residence in several of our large palms and there was poop everywhere! Yes, Mr. Notes wanted to feed the wild and beautiful birds- all we got were the stinkin' black ones that are a menace! They don't even sit still long enough to get a photograph, oh no, they just eat and run. So, thank goodness we only filled the feeder one time, Mr. Notes is so sorry he had the idea to start feeding them and for all the mess they made and continue to make. Soon, I'm sure the black birds will find out there's not anymore food and I hope they find another home! I squirted them with the hose, now that was clever, I am sure the loved the shower! I feel like getting my trusty blower out there at them, that will give them a blast off! Now, I love birds, but these are full of poop, a BB shooter crossed my mine too. Poop everywhere, on all of our outdoor furniture, all over the area around the pool, name it, it's was there and continues. They even pooped on my pretty flowers! Have they no regard for beauty? I read that I need to get to Home Depot and get a plastic owl, they are afraid of them, humm. Will see.
Anyhow, so you know, their white poop dries like paint!

I'm fuming and irritated, off to scrub off more poop-they were back this morning- how rude, they eat elsewhere and poop here!
What nerve-
Have a great day, hope you don't have to scrub off bird poop!

Well, sans the bird poo;) that is one beautiful serene backyard!! Nice to meet you Nancy!

That is a gorgeous backyard - no wonder you don't want any poop out there - I wouldn't either - good luck.
ReplyDeleteI may be posting twice. My post seemed to disappear! I was saying, no wonderful those old black birds love living in your backyard - it's gorgeous1 I guess I really can't blame them but they should find another place for their poopy!
ReplyDeleteThanks for mentioning my blog!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
What's that old saying "feed them once and you can't get rid of them?". Hope the owl works, your yard is beautiful Nancy:@)
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy,
ReplyDeleteShame on those birds trying to mess up your peaceful and tranquil view.
hugs
Sissie
I feel your angst. I feed many wild birds and hummers and at the same time fight squirrels daily. A squirrel broke one of my hummingbird feeders today and I feel kind of murderous towards him. Your pool is gorgeous and peaceful. hugs♥O
ReplyDeleteWell, you pool area is pretty:) Sorry about those stinking blackbirds! They should be ashamed! I wish I lived closer, I would help scrub! HUGS!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness your backyard is just gorgeous!! I know what you mean about those blackbirds they end up running off the pretty birds we put the seed out for.
ReplyDeletebeen there; done that. our blackbird and grackle hordes stay here in Texas in the winter and eat us out of house and home - and poop like whitewashers all over!!!
ReplyDeletehey, all I see is a beautiful pool. I would love to swap backyards with you any time!
ReplyDeleteOH Yuck! I feel for ya! We used to have birds nest on the front porch all the time and poop everywhere until I built angles on all the ledges. lol! Stop feeding them and they will find another place for sure. Though, they may linger around yours a bit because it is certainly beautiful and inviting out there! :)
ReplyDeleteI loved your pool picture. I had that same shaped pool before moving 5 years ago. I keep saying how much I miss the pool. Have you tried a big owl statue? I know people who swear that it works.
ReplyDeleteWe have the same thing our black birds are Starlings they are a pain but the dog keeps them at bay most of the time . Papa used to paint ball them lol they didnt like that but now they get what they want and leave usually I have about 4 bowls and 6 feeders out for all kinds of birds and critters because there are alot of different types of birds here feeding they have to fight to get some so they dont stick around much. Love your back yard its beautiful. Have a great day and good luck with bratty black birds.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous back yard to sit in and enjoy! That is exactly why I don't feed any birds except my hummingbirds! I hate the poop on everything and I sure don't have the time or energy to clean it up! I was told that a rubber snake will do the trick, so I got two to go under our carport and they have quit nesting on one side, but not the other. And they do the same thing there, they poop on everything, so if the owl works, let us know and I'll see about getting one of those. I hope it works for you for you sure will enjoy that pool!
ReplyDeleteNancy, your back yard and pool are glorious! What a wonderful spot to cool off on a hot TX day. As for the black birds, I hear you. We had a swarm that swooped in, ate every berry off our neighbors tree, then flew next door to sit in our tree to poop. Yuck! What a mess when it's a huge flock. ~ Sarah
ReplyDeleteJust stopping in to see how you are. I could have sworn I commented on this post before, but I've had blogger issues so maybe it didn't take. Hope the birds have left your pool alone by now!
ReplyDeletewow this backyard is so pretty girl!! I would love to be here with all that warm sunshine!!! Although I would hate all that poopy poop!!! Hope all is well with you and just want to say, I love the post about your dad. I just went to see my dad (Tahoe Migration) because I didn't want to look back and wish that I had...
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Terry
Hi Nancy. How can such beautiful creatures have no regards for the beauty of their surrounds,hee-hee. You backyard and pool look so inviting. I've been enjoying looking at your previous post too. I wish I could find time to sit here all day. I'm following you as Tonasun on GFC so I can hopefully drop back in later.
ReplyDeleteHave a fun weekend. Hugs...Tracy :)
Get an owl with a bobble head so it moves with the breeze. Or, if you you can't fine one with the bobble head, place in on a stake (there is a hole in the bottom) so it's in the air and swings a bit. We had them about 3 years ago and did this and they finally went away. Those things are nasty and very unwelcome. We also place a faux snake on the deck too, but it didn't scare anyone but me and the yard guy (it looked real)! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteGreat looking pool by the way!
Nancy,
ReplyDeleteHope those pesky black birds have gone by now and you're having a great summer by the pool.
Babs
